PTL / Heritage USA: 22 Years Later- 6/26/09- Vid #8

The original Lake Heritage, with private homes already built, purchased, and lived-in. I forget what was in this the original location of those houses before (I think a train station?). Next shown is the concrete sidewalk which almost completely encircled the lake. I didn’t walk the perimeter of the lake to see, but as far as I could tell, the sidewalk was original, as is the green iron fence. Sadly, the iron fence is in a sad state of utter disrepair, as are a majority of the buildings and other structures still remaining from Heritage USA. Directly on the opposite side of the iron fence is the gravel bed of what once was the train which circumnavigated the lake. Nothing left of the train whatsoever (in this area). For the most part, the brown Lakeside Chalets are pretty much the same as I remembered them, in fairly decent condition. Some even appeared to be in use. I do not remember the cream-colored building at :53 into the video. It has what appears to be a wheelchair ramp leading to it from the parking lot, as you can see. At the entrance of this wheelchair ramp (not shown in this video) is a FOR SALE BY OWNER sign. I don’t remember the structure at 1:05 at all, but appears to have been a floating platform of some sort & purpose. At 1:40, I zoomed in on the substructure of one of the cabins, and it is obvious that this particular cabin had recently been relocated to ts position shown here. On the parking lot behind these cabins (not shown in this video) are two more …

People are inherently lazy. They won’t use a lawnmower to mow the yard of an adjacent property, even if it were an abandoned property with grass two feet tall. They would simply stop at the edge of their own lawn and be done with it.
Same goes for using a weed eater. No one will do any more than absolutely necessary.
In watching these videos (which by the way are awesome - thank you for posting!) one is left to wonder if no one in the area owns a Weed Eater. It’s obvious that there are residential units in abundance now at Heritage. Couldn’t someone take a little pride in the area and walk over and cut the weeds around the lake? It just amazes me that no one seems willing to take ownership. Sure this property is privately owned, but I seriously doubt that the owner/developer would have a problem w/this.
Indeed, because the tower was so high & visible, that I often used it as a point of reference in my videos.
I MENT TOWER- LOL
Greg
The Yower is visible at almost every turn.
COOL, But it is sick how Jim was taken, now this- it is sad America allowed that to happen. Justice was screwed,
