If the slope is 1 in of height for ever 12 inches of distance, then if you want to get up to a height of 2ft4in (28in), you need to start 28in x 12 = 336 inches away. Visualize.
if the slope is 1 in twelve, it rises 1 foot for every 12 feet of travel.
24.3 feet
I multiplied the run by rise, 12×2=24 +.33 (12″/4)
For every 1 unit of rise, there are 12 units of run. That’s what slope means.
So multiply the height by 12 to find out how long the ramp is.
12*30=360 inches or 30 feet. Good thing too, since 30 feet is the maximum lenght you can run without providing a landing, that would add another 5 feet. And don’t think of increasing the slope to shorten it. 1/12 is the ADA maximum.
simple ans.
2*12+4=28 in
28in *[12/1]=28ft 0in
ans=>28ft 0in or more + ramp entry and exit
check building code there is max length for ramps
with out “rest” flat parts in ramp.
or turn arounds.
